An Apple a day might just keep the doctor away

Apple's ingenious iPad is helping British troops with Afghan efforts with an app which has been developed to help train troops even faster than before without having to listen the Royal School of Artillery's instructors.

Men from the 1st Reginemt Royal Horse Artillery say this is more hands on for troups leaarning rather than watching a presentation. You can take it with you back to base and have a go and compete with others about the best way to deal with a situation and can make operations even slicker in real life.

The creaters are also making a 3D app for Army Pilots to help recognise vechiles whilst flying. Army Training Officer Major Rich Gill hopes these apps can help shorten training time. He also insists that in a time when the Armed Forces are facing cuts the introduction of iPads is not a waste of money.

  1. Good spot, Jamie. Once we start the course properly we will discuss how this type of story relates to the theories associated with Media Studies.
